Hawaii ( or ; Hawaiian: Hawaii ) is the most recent of the 50 U.S. states (joined the Union on August 21, 1959), and is the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands. It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean.

    POLINEZIA

    ISHUJT HAVAJE
    - Ishujt Havaje zënë pozitën veriore të Polinezisë. E përbëjnë 8 ishuj të banuar dhe një numër i madh ishujve të pabanuar. Të gjithë këta zënë një sipërfaqe prej 16,705 km2, të cilët kanë qenë të banuar me 770.000 banorë (1970); 1.100.000 (2006). Havai është ishulli më i madh e të gjithë të tjerët të këtij grupi quhen më këtë emër. Vetëm ai zë 10.414 km2 ose afro 90 për qind të tërë ishujve të këtij grupi.     - Pozita në mes të 19 e 22° të gjerësisë veriore ia përcakton një klimë të nxehtë me reshje të bollshme. Në Honolulu temperatura mesatare vjetore është 23,3 muajit më të nxehtë të gushtit 25,3 dhe muajit më të ftohtë janarit 21,3°C. Për prodhimet e ananasit Ishujt Havaje janë ndër të parët në botë, e me 1,2 milion tonë sheqer zënë vend të lartë ne ranglistën botërore. Krahas këtyre kulturave kultivohet edhe orizi, kafja dhe kauçuku. Për bukuritë natyrore që ofron ky ambient me klimë aq terheqëse, për praninë e shumë vullkaneve, shpërthimet e të cileve ofrojnë përjetime të rralla të një dukurie të jashtësakonshme natyrore, e bëjnë shumë tërheqëse për vizitorë. Vetëm në vitin 1978 e kanë vizituar afro 3,7 milionë turistë, përkatësisht sa ka pasur Greqia turistë në vitin 1977.
    - Në fund të shekullit të kaluar dhe në fillim të këtij SHBA Ishujt Havaje i bënë për vete e pas Luftës së Dytë Botërore pjese të territorit të tij (1959), përkatesisht shtetin federal të 50 të SHBA. Gjatë Luftës së Dytë Botërore Ishujt Havaje kanë luajtur rol të rëndesishëm si vende strategjike në brendësi të Oqeanit Paqësor.

Në perëndim të Hono­lulu shtrihet porti luftarak Perl Harbur (Pearl Harbor), nga i cili në vitin 1941 ka qenë dëmtuar shumë marina amerikane prej aviacionit japonez.
